Sakai Conference 2011

Call for Presentations

Session submission deadline is April 3

Presentation Opportunities

Sakai 2011 provides many different opportunities for sharing, collaboration and presentation. Regardless of your experience in the community, there is an opportunity to participate and contribute. If you plan to attend, please consider presenting, participating in a birds of a feather group, or sharing an innovation during the showcase/tech demo.

Community members are sharing the information that they would most like to hear at the conference. Please review the requests submitted.

The deadline for pre-conference sessions is March 27. The deadline for all other presentation types is April 3. Given the tight timeframes for the conference this year, we will not extend this deadline. Please plan to have all submissions complete before midnight PDT on Sunday, April 3.

Conference Session Presentations

Open format sessions sharing success in technology-enabled teaching, learning and research

The conference session presentations will run for 60 minutes with an open format. The session may inlcude a presentation with time for questions and answers, a panel discussion, or a very brief set-up of a topic for more detailed discussion with the session participants. We DO NOT require presentations to center on the Sakai software. When developing presentations, please consider the issues, opportunities and innovations that are most central to success in technology-enabled teaching, learning and research.

Birds of a Feather Sessions

Topics for informal discussion with like-minded community members

Please suggest a topic for informal collaboration and discussion. There is no need to prepare a presentation for these sessions. Topics may include a practice or focus eg Distance Learning Programs, a profile group eg Medical Schools, or a collaborative project suggestion eg Development of User Documentation. This is simply an opportunity for like-minded folk to meet and share.

Showcase / Tech Demo

Demonstrate your organization's innovations

On Wedneday evening community members will gather to eat, drink and share innovations. Please consider providing a demo of your work and discussing it with community members in an informal setting. The conference will provide a table and access to electricity. We unfortunately cannot provide a screen and projector for each table. If you would like us to assist you in coordinating this with the hotel for a fee, please note that on your submission.
